Want the ultimate hamburger? Top it with a fried egg! Shape up some patties using our recipe or get some ready made ones from the store, but it's all in how you build the burger. Topping your patty with an egg adds just one more layer of decadance, with all that drippy yolk creating a luscious sauce. After that if you add bacon, cheese, avocado.. it's really up to you!

Take your burger from ordinary to fantastic-top it with an egg!

For the patties:

1 lb regular ground beef

1 egg

1/2 onion, grated

2 cloves garlic, chopped finely

1/3 cup breadcrumbs

1 tsp dijon mustard

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

1 tsp worchestershire sauce

For the burgers:

4 buns

6 slices of bacon

4 eggs

4-6 slices of Cheddar or mozzarella cheese

shallots or red onion, thinly sliced

1 tomato, sliced

sriracha (if desired-mix it with your mayo!)

1. In a large bowl, stir together the egg, breadcrumbs, grated onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and worchestershire sauce. Add the hamburger and using your hands, mix everything together until well combined.

2. Shape the mixture into 4 patties, pressing your thumb in the middle to make an identation.

3. Either on a greased grill or in a frypan over medium heat, cook the burgers until the center registers 160 F with a meat thermometer. Place cheese on top of the burgers and allow it to melt slightly.

4. Remove the burgers to a clean plate and set aside to rest while you assemble the rest of the ingredients and cook the eggs.

5. Make the eggs to your liking. They could be sunny side up as pictured, or over easy.

To assemble the burgers:

1. Butter and toast the buns until golden. Let cool slightly. place two slices of bacon on each bun, then top with the burger patty and your fried egg.

2. Spread some mayonnaise on the top bun, before piling with fresh lettuce, tomato slices, and onion slices.

3. Sandwich together and dig in!
