Who says you can't have grilled cheese and egg in a nest together? Melty cheese, creamy yolk, oh my! It's sandwich heaven. Try serving with a bowl of tomato soup for the ultimate lunch.

Sandwich heaven! Creamy yolk and melty cheese with buttery bread.


2 pieces of your favourite bread

1 egg

1 tbsp margerine

slices of cheese


1. Butter both sides of one of the pieces of bread, and only one side of the other piece of bread. Using a 2 inch round cookie cutter, cut a hole in the piece of bread that is buttered on both sides.

2. In a non stick pan over medium low heat, place the piece of bread with the hole in it and toast both sides gently. Turn the heat down and crack an egg into the middle of the hole. Cook until the egg seems set on the bottom, then gently flip over and cook the other side.

3. Place the other piece of bread in the pan butter side down and place the cheese slices on top. Turn the eggy piece over and place, yolk side up, on top of the cheese.

4. Cook gently until the cheese is melted and the bread is toasted. Cut iin half and serve!
