Welcome to the Grade A goodness of BC Fresh Eggs!

(July 19, 1999 issue)

Good news about eggs and cholesterol!

Research shows that eating eggs everyday does not significantly raise the "bad" LDL cholesterol levels in your blood or contribute to the risk of heart disease for most healthy men and women. *

According to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, saturated and trans fats increase blood cholesterol and the risk of heart disease. Eggs are low in saturated fat and do not contain any trans fat.

If you're concerned about your blood cholesterol levels, reduce the amount of unhealthy saturated and trans fats in your diet.

Good Nutrition
Quite simply, the egg is one of Mother Nature's most nutritious foods. One large egg contains only 70 calories, 6 grams of protein, and many other essential nutrients that help keep your family strong whenever they're on-the-go. Eggs are also natural sources of vitamins (A, B6, B12, D, E, riboflavin, thiamine, choline, niacin, folate), calcium, iron, zinc, lutein, zeaxanthin, and omega-3 fatty acids.

Good Taste
BC Fresh Eggs and BC Fresh Specialty Eggs are not only nutritious, they're also delicious! Eggs simply can't be beat when you want a meal that's quick-and-easy, nutritious, versatile, and economical. Breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack. Appetizer, main course, or dessert. BC Fresh Eggs are a natural choice for today's active and healthy lifestyle.
